With a PhD in Family Relations & Human Development, I look at loss not as an individual event, but as a life transition that can impact our beliefs, our relationships, and our identities.
The Expertise of an FT®
Loss is not a problem to be solved; it is a profound human experience that deserves both compassionate guidance and sacred space. As a Fellow in Thanatology (FT®), I have dedicated my career to the high-level study of death, dying, and bereavement. This senior-level credential—the highest in the field—means my approach is rooted in deep research, death education, and a sophisticated understanding of the "thorns" of grief.
The Heart of a Spiritual Practitioner
While the science of grief provides the map, your soul provides the compass. As a Certified Spiritual Practitioner (SC-C), I bridge the gap between academic expertise and intuitive care. I believe that grief is a spiritual threshold. My role is to walk beside you as a companion, helping you navigate the mystery of loss and find your way back to a state of Spiritual Alignment.
My Philosophy: The Mystic Rose
I founded Mystic Rose to offer a "middle path" for people who are grieving—a sanctuary where research-based Grief Support meets the warmth of Spiritual Care. Whether you are grappling with a recent death, a life transition, or the search for meaning in the mist of sorrow, I provide a non-clinical space to honor your journey. Here, we don't aim to "get over" loss. We work together to integrate it, finding the beauty that remains and the spiritual resilience that grows, even in the most difficult moments.
Scope of Practice & Legal Notice
As the founder of Mystic Rose, I provide Grief Support and Spiritual Care. In accordance with Washington State law, please note the following:
Non-Clinical Status: I am a Thanatologist and Spiritual Practitioner, not a Washington State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Psychologist, or Social Worker.
Advising vs. Counseling: While I hold the "Certified Spiritual Counselor (SC-C)" credential from a private certifying body, I do not provide "counseling" as defined by RCW 18.19. My services are strictly spiritual and educational.
No Clinical Diagnosis: I do not diagnose or treat "mental health disorders". If your needs require clinical support, I will provide a referral to a licensed healthcare professional.
